Shoetopia '11
Shoetopia 2011 kicked off without a hitch this past Saturday. Unlike Sneakercon, which was in a auditorium/theater, Shoetopia took place in a bar setting. The ability to get drinks at any corner was a pro, but the dim setting was a con. Limited visibility makes it a little harder for nice kicks to stand out especially for sellers on foot.
My favorite part of these events are the clothing lines. Low key new designers expressing themselves through cotton tees and premium hoodies covered with there best creations. Shoe collectors are there to sell kicks, the designers are there to sell their concept as well as clothing. Clothing means more when you know what it represents. It feels like I'm wearing an abtract painting on my chest and I'm the art expert there to explain its depth. Shoutout to some of the new designers at Shoetopia this year, Dope Mentality, Currency, Casanova and Fort Noir. Check out the pics below...
