"Steve Jobs is stepping down from his position as the CEO of Apple, the company announced today. Jobs has been dealing with serious health issues for several years now, having undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer in 2004 and a liver transplant in 2009. He is currently on medical leave. In a letter released by Apple, Jobs addressed the company he’s led since his return from exile in 1996: “I have always said that if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s C.E.O., I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”

Tim Cook, Apple’s chief operating officer, will replace Jobs, who will transition into the role of company chairman. Arguably the most successful chief executive in Silicon Valley history, if not corporate history in general, Jobs will leave some very large shoes to fill."

At a very young age, we’re taught that if we fall down trying to accomplish something we should get back up and try again. Learning to walk is a perfect example, as the bumps and bruises from repeatedly collapsing to the ground soon give way to smiles and a newfound independence in mobility. Nobody just hands us the key to walking. We earn it.  Each and every one of us, regardless of the social or economical status we’re born into, earns it.   Maybe we can’t recall how good it felt the day we made it across the living room floor on our own two feet, but in life, we’ll have plenty other opportunities to reach our rewards as we stumble, fall and fight like hell to get back up.
 
As we get older, the falls we take are usually harder, often unexpected, and more difficult to recover from.  Rather than leave scars on our hands and knees, they leave us bleeding emotionally.  More importantly, what we do afterward can determine the course of our lives moving forward. The work for Joe’s “Fall and Rise” examines the fall and the moment of self restoration and enlightenment upon picking oneself up, as opposed to falling back down and falling apart.

Diggy Simmons is looking to share his fashion sense with the launch of Chivalrous Culture. These casual sneakers felt pretty comfortable when I tried them on thanks to some extra cushioning around the ankles inside the shoe. They felt like quality work and good material. A few styles caught my eye but none more than the black and red pair (pictured above). The shoes are set to hit Footaction some time this Fall. Cost $80-100

I got a chance to hang out with Famous, one of Torontos best host and rappers, and get on stage during the Travis Porter performance. It was a great time. The crowd was hype but Famous took it to another level. Travis Porter came out and did their thing too. Check it out...

I stumbled upon these shots in a alley off a Queens St.

Can't go to Trinidad for Carnival? How about Brasil? Barbados? No? Well then make sure you take your ass to Caribana next year (and yes I know they changed the name to the Scotiabank blah blah blah). I could care less about wack ass corporate sponsorship. But back to my point, Caribana was the place to be this past weekend. There was a great parade with food, trucks, music, and gorgeous ladies that lasted from 11am-7pm (unfortunately there was also a shooting). Drake, Canada's hip-hop ambassador, returned to his hometown for a concert and pool party, and the club scene was filled with parties featuring Fabolous, Travis Porter, Nas, and Bow Wow amongst others.

This was my second year going and the weather didn't disappoint for a second year in a row. It felt like a second Memorial Day weekend in Miami this year, with the sun, the influx of beautiful female tourist (local and foreign), and the live social scene. A must go for any single man with swag and common sense, especially if your American. Apparently I have a funny yet cute accent. Maybe you do to? Do yourself a favor, attend Caribana 2012, and find out. Just make sure you book your hotel early, buy a party pass, and more importantly have fun.
